The finest high end in audio” is typically how our customers and reviewers describe the Newform Research Ribbon. We manufacture new next generation Ribbon loudspeakers for audiophile stereo hifi and home theater systems. These advanced speaker designs offer the transparency and detail of the classic large panel electrostatic and Ribbon loudspeakers while adding unsurpassed soundstaging and dynamics.

For the experienced audiophile and music lover, Newform speakers are a substantial upgrade offering higher resolution, balance, dynamics and practicality than the classic high end audio standards. For people new to high end audio, they will be a revelation.

In practical terms, our Ribbon speakers set up a much larger sweet spot in the listening room and are easier to drive for superb musical results with modest stereo amplifiers and home theater receivers.

The models we now offer use the Coaxial Ribbon LineSource configuration. This eliminates and minimizes more of the problems inherent in traditional designs than any other loudspeaker configuration. Coaxial Ribbon LineSource designs move the loudspeaker industry design yardsticks.

Our systems are designed to offer real music in a stereo system and integrate extremely well in multi-channel systems with subwoofers and room correction.

Whichever module suits your needs and your wallet best, they all come with expert advice and designer support. Contact us for a system overview.

Acoustics, Music, Hearing and Being Heard

Music, speech intelligibility and listening room coverage are all part of the same puzzle and are all uniquely well delivered by our Ribbons and the Coaxial Ribbon LineSource configuration.

The best loudspeakers don’t create music, they get out of the way of the music. Look at our minimalist designs and consider how many of the intransigent shortcomings of conventional designs they overcome.

Our product line has evolved over time but the advances incorporated in the Last Dance series has allowed our offerings to be greatly simplified.

3 supremely capable loudspeakers can now cover the audiophile waterfront

The 3 Last Dance models cover the range of speakers we have made over the past 35 years in terms of size and performance capability. In terms of transparency and soundstaging they are a step ahead of anything we have previously offered.

For example, The Last Dance Nano is smaller than the venerable R58, yet out performs the much larger Ribbon Tower 30 in terms of bass extension and dynamics. As an added bonus, the Nano costs less than the RT30 despite the use of the ultra-high performance Purifi midbasses.

The Nano does require a stand or some form of elevation and please note it is very front heavy and must be bolted into the stand. (bases available)

The performance of the Nano in the bottom end, especially with room correction EQ, is so amazing for its size many people may feel the use of a subwoofer is unnecessary even for home theatre applications played at high levels in anything up to a medium sized room. Yes, for these applications, some will add a subwoofer but the crossover point can be kept very low to take full advantage of the Nano’s bass transparency and speed.

For our speakers in the Super Module to R645 range, the diminutive Last Dance Compact can offer the same dynamics and bass reach, with, of course, very distinctly improved midbass transparency.

The Last Dance covers the ground from the R645 and into the realm of the Triple-Stacked Modules and even the fire-breathing 4 module, 8 ScanSpeak, dual 30” Ribbon custom systems.

Note the theme here of much smaller speakers filling the rolls of much larger ones while improving on midbass transparency, dynamics and bottom end reach. The audio performance yardsticks have been moved again.

The full potential of Newform’s Coaxial Ribbon LineSouce configuration has been realized by the use of Purifi Audio’s breakthrough 4” midbasses. The combination of this novel speaker alignment, built around our Oval Ribbons, and the Purifis, adds up to a genuine technological step forward in the art, and sometimes science, of music reproduction.

The full spectrum of loudspeaker applications in home music and theatre systems is now covered by these three simple Last Dance models.
